An update on Skukuza Airport (12th March 2014)
We are really excited at the re-introduction of these scheduled air services as they will undoubtedly improve on convenient access to this world renowned wildlife destination.
- Work on the Skukuza Airport runway progressed well. After being closed on 04 November 2013 for repairs and resurfacing, the runway was re-opened again on 18 February 2014.
- The Skukuza Management Company (comprising Airlink, Federal Air and Lion Sands Game Reserve) is in the process of revamping the airport terminal building to bring it to international standards. Building contractors and specialists are currently on site. Once the facility is complete, the airport will be able to process a total of 400 passengers and 20 aircraft movements per day (a combination of 10 arrivals and 10 departures per day, including lodge hopper/ shuttle flights and charter flights).
We will keep you updated with progress made on an ongoing basis, but feel free to contact us should you have any queries, or require further information.
